Avoid Trans Fats to Live Healthier

Lifestyle of healthy living does not just mean eating occasional lettuce or walking every few weeks, but it should really be sought because health is very important. To live a healthy lifestyle, you should consistently prefer healthy foods and what it means by healthy foods includes foods that do not contain trans fats.

To live healthily, you can choose foods with minimal unhealthy fat content. Unhealthy fats include trans fats and saturated fats. This type of fat will increase LDL cholesterol and it is usually associated with an improved risk of heart disease. High trans fat foods include food processed with partially hydrogenated oils, such as butter or margarine. Cakes, fried foods, frozen pizza, and other processed foods usually contain trans fats. Foods which are high in saturated fats are pizza, cheese, red meat, and full-fat dairy products. Coconut oil is also high in saturated fat but can increase good cholesterol so it can be used in moderation.

It is better for you to consume healthy fats in moderation. Polyunsaturated fats, monounsaturated fats, and omega-3 fats are a good choice. This good fat lowers LDL cholesterol and increases HDL cholesterol, which is associated with a reduced risk of heart disease.

You can choose oils such as olive oil, canola oil, soybean oil, peanut oil, sunflower oil, and corn oil. Fish contain high omega-3 fatty acids. You can choose fish such as sardines, salmon, trout, mackerel, tuna, and herring. You can also get omega-3s from vegetable sources like flaxseed, vegetable oil, and nuts and seeds, even though the body does not process the fat with the same effectiveness.

By consuming foods without trans fat, you will be able to avoid yourself from obesity as such fat is the kind of fat that will be collected and accumulated in your body over time. By being free from obesity, you will already be able to avoid several health diseases such as hypertension and heart disease.
